With the recent addition of the Hydroblast 8000 to our fleet we have found the versatility of these machines has reached a new level. Not only does it have the manoeuvrability to get into small, tight spaces with the buggy, but with the bumper mounted head, which can clean to a width of 700mm, has the ability to remove rubber deposits off Touch Down Zones on runways. The WJ Hydroblast 8000 is able to remove all deposits from the surface, whether it is asphalt or concrete and doesn’t affect exiting drainage groves or runway lighting. It can even remove rubber from runway markings without removing the marking its self.
The Hydroblast operates with only clean water and with the larger power unit operating at 12 gallons (45.42 liters) a minute at 40000 psi (2750 bar) this increase in power is noticed in the increase in productivity, outperforming any other comparable removal operation of today.
The need for secondary clean-up operations is completely eliminated with the Hydroblast vacuum recovery system. The recovery of liquid and solid debris occurs immediately and simultaneous with the blasting process, leaving the surface virtually dry. Both the 4000 and 8000 machines have the unique vacuum recovery system that separates the liquids from the solids, which makes disposal easy.
Regardless of what your removal needs will be, or how difficult they are to access, the Hydroblast and its removal head options has the solution for you.
Applications that have been successfully achieved by WJ Hydroblast on UK airports and airfields are: Taxiway, Apron & Gateway Marking Removal, Marking Cleaning, Rubber Removal from Runway TDZ’s and Aircraft Parking Stand Cleaning.
